The attached document was compiled as part of the EU-funded INTARESE project, which contributed to the development of this Toolbox.

It provides a theoretical background to the process of participation and considers the role of different stakeholders, and associated participation activities, in the context of integrated environmental health impact assessment.  It also provides an outline of methods for stakeholder participation, and outlines some of the practical issues that are involved.
