Goal-Oriented Monitoringsearch for term

It is necessary to consider the issues of goal setting and the relationships between monitoring, planning and research. Planning must involve, first, the setting of goals. Goals should be established with adequate knowledge of the past, current, and potential future conditions of the environment and health (i.e. the historical context). Some well-accepted general goals for informing decision makers of the results of monitoring and recommendations for action and taking and reviewing actions, in environment and health fields or elsewhere.
